Edmond Richards is a partner at Accuracy based in London. Since 2010, he has specialised in the assessment of damages arising from treaty and contract breaches, including loss of profits and reduction/loss of value claims.
Edmond has a broad range of sector experience, including metals and mining, oil & gas, energy, real estate, utilities, manufacturing, TMT, pharma, automotive, airline, consumer goods and hospitality.
Edmond has given written and oral evidence in arbitrations under ICSID, LCIA, ICC and SAC rules. He also acts in UK court matters. He is recognised among the leading damages experts by Lexology (formerly Who’s Who Legal), including for his expertise in the mining sector, where peers and clients describe him as “incredibly intelligent and very dedicated to his clients”.
Edmond has also given expert financial advice in transactions, investigations, non-contentious valuations, business advisory and pre-dispute contexts.
Edmond is a qualified accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He holds a first-class honours degree in Physics from Imperial College London. He is a native English speaker, with intermediate knowledge of French and Spanish.

Commercial arbitration
Edmond has been appointed as an expert witness in commercial arbitrations under ICC, LCIA, CEPANI and SAC rules. He has also worked on numerous other commercial arbitrations, across a variety of sectors and geographies, including under ICC, DIFC, VIAC and NAI rules.
Investor-State arbitration
Edmond has been appointed as an expert witness in multiple investment arbitrations under ICSID rules, including in Lupaka Gold Corp. v. Republic of Peru where his evidence was accepted in full. He has also worked on a number of other investment arbitrations, including in the mining, real estate and waste management sectors, under both ICSID and UNCITRAL rules.
Litigation
Edmond has been appointed as an expert witness in litigations in the UK and Dutch courts. He has also worked on further litigations in the UK, Hong Kong, France, Italy and Singapore courts.
