Flitter

Flitter, founded in 2022 in Paris by Jérémy Steinberg, Hajer Gorgi and Arnaud Dumora, is part of the new wave of French insurtechs that are redefining industry standards.

With its pay-per-kilometre car insurance model, it offers a cost-effective alternative for infrequent drivers, who account for around 50% of motorists in France travelling less than 12,000 km a year.
Unlike traditional insurance, Flitter allows these motorists to make savings of up to 50% by paying only for the kilometres actually driven.

This model is in line with the growing trend towards sustainable and flexible mobility.

More and more consumers are opting for alternatives such as public transport or car-sharing, thereby reducing their car use.

Flitter adapts perfectly to these changes by offering personalised cover, with no additional costs to adjust the chosen mileage package.

The company also offers fully digital management, from underwriting to claims declaration, simplifying the user experience.

In 2023, Flitter raised €3.5 million, thanks in particular to the acquisition of a stake by Helvetia Assurances, with the aim of achieving profitability by the end of 2024.

The funds raised will be used to double the workforce and invest in technological development, particularly for connected cars. With a solution that automatically transmits the mileage of vehicles equipped with on-board communication systems, Flitter aims to capture a larger share of the European market, estimated at 150 billion euros.

Flitter is also banking on a fluid, digital customer experience. Users can manage their entire insurance contract via the application, from taking out a policy to reporting claims and tracking mileage. This digital model sets the start-up apart from traditional insurance companies, whose administrative formalities are often seen as cumbersome.

By automating and simplifying processes, Flitter offers a solution that is faster and better adapted to the needs of modern consumers.

The future looks bright for Flitter. The start-up’s ambition is to become a leader in motor insurance in France and Europe, by capitalising on changing mobility patterns. With the rise of teleworking and the increasing use of shared mobility solutions, demand for flexible insurance policies like the one offered by Flitter is growing all the time.

On the strength of its recent investments and constant innovation, Flitter is well positioned to make a lasting impact on the insurance market and win over a new generation of motorists looking for flexibility and savings. In the space of 18 months, it has tripled its number of policyholders to more than 30,000 customers. With strong growth potential, the start-up is now aiming to exceed 100,000 customers in the next few years.
