Cybercrime is a growing concern for the construction industry in the Middle East.

Around the world, the construction sector has been hit hard by the rise of cybercrime in recent years. A study by Nordlocker showed that construction had been the most targeted sector by ransomware attacks in 2022.

At the same time, cybersecurity has not gained much attention from construction researchers.

With this in mind, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, New York University Abu Dhabi and Accuracy’s Dubai office collaborated to carry out a comprehensive survey within the Middle East, analysing some of the challenges linked to the emergence of cyberattacks in the construction sector.
