Business plan modelling in hospitality and ticketing in the context of the 2024–28 Olympic Games

Situation: Strategy and business changes
Business changes

Context

Our client, a leading hospitality food services and facilities management provider, had submitted a bid to the International Olympic Committee for the hospitality services at the 2024 and 2028 Olympic Games.

Key Takeaway

We delivered a report outlining the main drivers of the business plan and its sensitivity to key assumptions. This report enabled the executive committee and the board of directors to make an informed decision, with full visibility on the underlying assumptions, their robustness and the potential risks associated with the project.

Accuracy Role

We were appointed to review the business plan to ensure its robustness and tested its key assumptions through daily sessions with the management team, expert input from the event and hospitality sectors, and research on major sporting events in the past. We also prepared sensitivity analyses to assess financial performance across different scenarios.
