Barometer of French Professional Football’s Impact – Henri Philippe, Partner, Accuracy

Henri Philippe, a partner at Accuracy, appeared on BFM TV to present the 2024 edition of the French Professional Football Impact Barometera study conducted in partnership with Foot Unis.

Henri Philippe was joined by Marie-Hélène Patry, General Delegate of Foot Unis, the organisation that represents French professional football clubs, to discuss the findings of the barometer.

The 2024 edition analyses the economic, social and environmental impacts of professional football in France for the 2022–2023 season.

The publication of the barometer shed light on the many positive externalities of the football industry, particularly its role as a driver of economic and social issues at the local and national levels.
During the interview, Henri Philippe highlighted the often-overlooked economic and social contributions of the professional football industry in France. He emphasised that broadcast rights account for a significant share of club revenues – on average 30%, and sometimes more than half. The recent 25% annual drop in audiovisual income for the 2024–2029 period may force French clubs to scale back their spending, putting thousands of local jobs at risk and threatening the funding of grassroots sports.
