Enel has closed the acquisition of a portfolio consisting of two onshore wind farms in Germany with a total installed capacity of 51 MW.
The transaction contributes approximately 10 million euros per year to the Group’s ordinary EBITDA through a tariff regulated within a feed-in premium scheme, which guarantees a minimum remuneration level if sale prices on the market are lower than the expected threshold.
With an enterprise value of approximately 80 million euros, this deal represents the Enel Group’s first significant acquisition of a portfolio of plants operating in Germany. This market is key within the Group’s geographic expansion strategy, which foresees growth in the renewable sector also through targeted acquisitions, focusing on geographies characterised by regulatory and macroeconomic stability.
The German renewable market is the largest and one of the most interesting in Europe thanks to its growth potential as well as its favourable regulatory environment, which envisages incentive mechanisms for renewable energy sources.
