Providing support during a multi-billion-dollar airport project arbitration in the Middle East

Situation: Disputes
Arbitration

Context

Our client, the EPCM of a $10bn+ airport project with over 100 Contract Packages, faced significant delays and cost overruns, with completion taking more than three times longer than planned. We were appointed to prepare an independent expert report for ICC Arbitration.

Key Takeaway

Our analysis helped define critical contract packages, guiding our client’s strategy and showing where efforts should be focused. We highlighted engineering, procurement and project management issues and identified where additional technical experts would be required, strengthening our client’s position during arbitration.

Accuracy Role

We acted as independent delay experts, assessing the extent, incidence and causes of delay to the project’s critical path and crucial packages. Using an As-Planned vs As-Built windows analysis, we clarified actual causes of delay and supported our client’s legal team with dynamic visuals and matrices to simplify findings.
