Opportunity study to reshape banking strategy

Situation: Strategy & business changes
Business changes

Context

Amid widespread pressure on traditional revenue sources, our banking client faced declining net banking income and rising operating costs. As a result, it was looking to implement a modelling framework to test various development scenarios and quantify their impact on the bank’s financial trajectory.

The engagement provided an agile what-if analysis solution, enabling the assessment of disruptive scenarios up to 2030 and supporting the achievement of financial targets. The key levers considered included reallocating equity to optimise the business portfolio and rationalising expenses to reduce the cost-to-serve across distribution and operations.

Key Takeaway

We (i) tested multiple development scenarios, including profitability and product mix, external growth and cost-to-serve optimisation and (ii) identified key levers such as network expansion, partnership negotiations and digitalisation initiatives.

Accuracy Role

We contributed by designing the what-if analysis and presenting detailed findings to the financial management team and relevant departments, ensuring a clear understanding of the scenarios and supporting informed decision-making.
