Our client, a major player in the hotel industry, was considering the disposal of a minority stake in its recently acquired lifestyle hotels and high-end restaurant business.
Lifestyle hotels and restaurants have shown the highest growth rates in the sector since COVID, in some cases even recovering to 2019 revenue levels by 2021. The difference in performance was mainly explained by strong brand awareness as well as a capacity to generate non-hospitality revenues (restaurants, memberships, sponsorships and venue rental). The high-end restaurant business followed a similar trend.
