Edmond Richards is a partner at Accuracy. Since 2010, Edmond has specialised in the assessment of damages arising from treaty and contract breaches, in both arbitration and litigation contexts.

Edmond has been appointed as an expert witness in arbitrations under ICSID, LCIA, ICC and SAC rules, and is recognised as one of the leading damages experts by Who’s Who Legal. Edmond has a broad range of sector experience, including metals & mining, manufacturing, TMT, automotive, consumer goods and hospitality.

Edmond has also given expert advice in the context of transactions, investigations and non-contentious valuations, as well as performing preliminary claim assessments for corporates, their legal advisors and third-party funders.

Edmond is a qualified accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He holds a first class honours degree in Physics from Imperial College London. He is a native English speaker, with intermediate knowledge of French and Spanish.

Commercial arbitration

Edmond has been appointed as an expert witness in commercial arbitrations under ICC, LCIA and SAC rules. He recently testified in an ICC arbitration where the value at stake was USD 500m. He has also given expert advice in numerous other commercial arbitrations, across a variety of sectors and geographies, including under ICC, DIFC, VIAC and NAI rules.

Investor-State arbitration

Edmond has been appointed as an expert witness in an investment arbitration under ICSID rules. He has also given expert advice in a number of other investment arbitrations, including in the mining, real estate and waste management sectors, under both ICSID and UNCITRAL rules.

Litigation

Edmond has given expert advice in litigations in the UK, Hong Kong, France, Italy and Singapore courts.

Other experience

Edmond has also performed investigations into allegations of corruption, misappropriation of funds and cartels. Edmond’s further professional advisory experience consists of non-contentious valuations, transactions, business plan reviews, business performance monitoring, preliminary claim reviews and strategy consulting.
