He specialises in valuations and financial advisory for contentious situations, transactions and financial reporting purposes.<\/p>\n<p>Munyou has extensive experience in fair value analysis and damages assessment in both arbitration and litigation cases. He has worked on engagements in leading international arbitration centres in Asia, as well as for the Cayman Islands Grand Court.<\/p>\n<p>He also has worked on numerous valuation and financial modelling engagements for M&amp;A purposes, in particular cross-border investments across Asia Pacific. Munyou has significant experience in valuations for financial reporting purposes under IFRS, US GAAP and CAS for investment funds and listed corporations.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to joining Accuracy, Munyou gained over 12 years of professional experience in financial advisory across Asia Pacific, in Malaysia, Vietnam and mainland China.<\/p>\n<p>Munyou holds a BSc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics. He speaks English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Bahasa.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)<\/li>\n<li>Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA)<\/li>\n<li>Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (ACIArb)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><a tabindex=\"0\">In-depth expertise<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Arbitration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Munyou has worked as a quantum expert in commercial arbitrations covering post-M&amp;A disputes, fair value determination of equity investments and intellectual property and damages assessments arising from contract breaches. He has worked on cases heard under BIAC, HKIAC and SIAC rules.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Litigation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Munyou has worked as an expert consultant for several Chinese companies in their Section 238 fair value dispute cases in the Cayman Islands Grand Court. He has supported clients and counsel from pre-dispute through to discovery, expert review and settlement negotiations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Transactions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Munyou has provided valuations and financial modelling support in various M&amp;A cases across Asia Pacific. In particular, he has worked on numerous transactions in mainland China and Southeast Asia, covering the infrastructure, financial services, technology, manufacturing and healthcare services sectors.<\/p>\n<h3><a tabindex=\"0\">Examples of engagements<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Arbitration and litigation support<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepared expert reports for a damages assessment in relation to an exclusive cooperation agreement in the IT services sector \u2013 SIAC arbitration.<\/li>\n<li>Prepared expert reports for a damages assessment in relation to an exclusive distribution agreement in the apparel sector \u2013 HKIAC arbitration.<\/li>\n<li>Prepared expert reports for a damages assessment and opinion on financial reporting standards in relation to a post-M&amp;A dispute of a China-based tertiary education business \u2013 HKIAC arbitration.<\/li>\n<li>Prepared expert reports for the equity valuation of a healthcare service provider based in Southeast Asia in relation to a shareholder dispute \u2013 SIAC arbitration.<\/li>\n<li>Prepared expert reports to address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the profits of a China-based early education business \u2013 BIAC arbitration.<\/li>\n<li>Prepared expert reports on the equity derivative valuation of a China-based apparel distributor in relation to a post-M&amp;A dispute \u2013 HKIAC arbitration.<\/li>\n<li>Served as an expert consultant for several Chinese companies in relation to their Section 238 fair valuation disputes heard in the Cayman Islands Grand Court.
