Le plus difficile car le paradigme de \u00ab la pens\u00e9e complexe \u00bb (Edgar Morin<sup>1<\/sup>) a tout envahi. La s\u00e9mantique que nous utilisons chaque jour en t\u00e9moigne : rien qui ne soit devenu \u00ab syst\u00e9mique \u00bb, \u00ab hybride \u00bb, \u00ab holistique \u00bb, \u00ab liquide \u00bb ou \u00ab gazeux \u00bb. O\u00f9 que nous tournions nos regards, le monde \u00ab VUCA \u00bb (volatile, incertain, complexe, ambigu<sup>2<\/sup>) s\u2019impose d\u00e9sormais comme notre horizon ultime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or, appliqu\u00e9 \u00e0 toute situation, ce dogme de la complexit\u00e9 nous fait perdre en compr\u00e9hension, en potentiel d\u2019action et en responsabilit\u00e9. En compr\u00e9hension, d\u2019abord, car il impose une repr\u00e9sentation baroque du monde o\u00f9 tout est enchev\u00eatr\u00e9, o\u00f9 la partie est dans le tout mais aussi le tout dans la partie<sup>3<\/sup>, o\u00f9 les causes d\u2019un \u00e9v\u00e9nement sont ind\u00e9terminables et soumises aux effets de r\u00e9troactions de leurs propres cons\u00e9quences<sup>4<\/sup>. Renvoyant la recherche de la v\u00e9rit\u00e9 \u00e0 une approche r\u00e9ductrice et mutilante du r\u00e9el, il encourage \u00e9galement l\u2019\u00e9quivalence des opinions et accentue ainsi les travers de l\u2019\u00e8re de la post-v\u00e9rit\u00e9<sup>5<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Perte d\u2019action, ensuite, car \u00e0 partir du moment o\u00f9 tout est complexe, comment ne pas c\u00e9der \u00e0 la panique et \u00e0 la paralysie ? Par o\u00f9 commencer si, d\u00e8s lors qu\u2019on touche un fil du tissu du r\u00e9el, toute la bobine risque de s\u2019emm\u00ealer encore davantage ? Notre inaction climatique tient en partie \u00e0 cette repr\u00e9sentation du probl\u00e8me comme \u00e9tant d\u2019une complexit\u00e9 sans fin et \u00e0 l\u2019id\u00e9e que la moindre d\u00e9marche pour le r\u00e9soudre pose d\u2019autres probl\u00e8mes encore plus graves. La fable du battement de l\u2019aile de papillon qui, au Br\u00e9sil, peut g\u00e9n\u00e9rer un ouragan \u00e0 l\u2019autre bout du monde, nous rend inertes et impuissants. Or \u00ab le secret de l\u2019action, c\u2019est de s\u2019y mettre \u00bb, r\u00e9p\u00e9tait le philosophe Alain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00ab C\u2019est complexe \u00bb devient ainsi bien vite une formule d\u2019excuse pour ne pas agir. Alors que l\u2019\u00e9tat du monde n\u00e9cessiterait que nous nous engagions plus que jamais, nous assistons aujourd\u2019hui \u00e0 un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne de grand d\u00e9sengagement, perceptible dans la sph\u00e8re civique comme sur le terrain des entreprises. Renvoyant \u00e0 des effets de syst\u00e8mes, le dogme de la complexit\u00e9 d\u00e9responsabilise les individus. Aussi r\u00e9apprendre \u00e0 penser, \u00e0 agir et \u00e0 vivre avec simplicit\u00e9, appara\u00eet-il plus urgent que jamais. Sans que ce chemin ne soit ais\u00e9, comme le souligne l\u2019architecte minimaliste John Pawson : \u00ab La simplicit\u00e9 est en d\u00e9finitive tr\u00e8s difficile \u00e0 atteindre.
