Accuracy performed a strategic and financial diagnosis of the portfolio of sites operated by a major waste collection and treatment company in Germany.
Context
Top Management of the Group wanted (i) to issue a clear diagnosis of the underperformance of its activities in Germany and (ii) to identify tactical and strategic moves to be implemented to turn around the performance.

We built up a multi-disciplinary team with both strategic and financial expertise to tackle the following issues:
- Financial and economic performance by site
- Analysis of sites’ network synergies
- Review of competitive environment, site by site
- Recommendations on portfolio restructuring, i.e. divestments, investments, swaps
Outcome
Our report rationalised the financial performance of each site with their local market potential, business positioning and competitive environment. We also issued clear-cut recommendations to Management regarding their portfolio strategy, with our major recommendations already being implemented.
