Context
A global high-end winemaker with estates in Europe, South America, South Africa and Oceania wanted to determine its long-term strategic orientations and confirm the value created by its portfolio of wines so far. Work would include economic and market analyses and be translated into valuation metrics.
How we helped
We performed a comprehensive analysis of the growth of each estate in volume and value, rationalising how Management had been able to increase its price levels gradually and build solid business relationships with a growing set of wine distributors around the world to secure its commercial outlets.
We also implemented multi-criteria valuation methods to value the estate portfolio and assess the level of value created.
Finally, we worked on the future development axes for the Group, taking into consideration its portfolio positioning and future market dynamics.
Outcome
In a field where subjectivity is frequently damaging board decisions, our work provided fact-based analyses and conclusions demonstrating the value of long-term sustainable development in winemaking and distribution.
