Color Libraries, Color Systems, Fan decks, Card Sets, Color Decks

These terms refer to a discrete set of named colors. When supported by a APII system set members are indexed by an unsigned integer node number.

Fixed data is a collection of information about the color system nodes which is provided by or calculated from data provided by the owner of the Color System.  The name of the set member is part of fixed data. This data is constant, and is usually kept in serial flash memory. The serial memory used in APII is part of a family which contains a series of parts of increasing memory size in the same physical  package. API was configured with .5 and 1 MBit serial memories.  APII has been configured with 2, 4, and 8 MBit Serial Memories.

A searchlist is a set of  instrument dependent data with one vector for each node in the color system. The vectors may have different formats, which affect the type of search metric allowed, the search speed, and the memory required.

Instrument specific searchlists are calculated and loaded by PC applications AW32 , AP2TOOLS and AP2Update.

The searchlists available include
